Mount Hermon Records

Mount Hermon is the highest mountain in Israel’s State, and it is located on Israel’s northeastern border. The mountain area is divided between Syria, Lebanon, and Israel. Its highest peak is on the border between Syria and Lebanon, at 2,814 meters above sea level. There is an annual rainfall of about 1300 mm in this area, with strong winds throughout the year. Due to its height, the precipitation consists of snow. The lowest temperature in the wintertime is slightly below 0 degrees, while in the summertime, the temperature reaches about 25 degrees. Moreover, Mount Hermon is the only ski resort in Israel, and it is also a great place to hike throughout the year.

Skiing

A visit to Mount Hermon during the winter will ensure a variety of entertaining winter activities suitable for all ages! In Mount Hermon, located at an altitude of 2,040 meters above sea level, ski trails are at each station for skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts. Even those who have never experienced extreme winter sports can learn something new. You can take a ski or snowboard lesson, individually or in groups and learn to ski like real professionals. Besides the ski school, you can find equipment stores where to rent or buy ski equipment such as snow sledges; in this way, you can enjoy skiing in the designated area. You can also enjoy a coffee break or a meal at one of the buffets on-site. Besides, there are an information centre and first aid services. Another fun attraction is the extreme sledges where it is possible to ski in pairs. The different snow sledges are suitable for children of different ages, depending on their age and height.

Walking

For the lovers of walks, there are authorised hiking trails. Nevertheless, never walk alone independently! You can walk along the tracks as part of an organised group, after receiving permits from the Mount Hermon site and the Israel Defense Forces.
